How to Start a Bedtime Routine



Do you have a bedtime routine? I believe a bedtime routine is just as important as a morning routine. Getting quality sleep and enough of it can be one of the easiest things to make the biggest positive change in your life.


Sleep is ESSENTIAL for our wellbeing.

Sleep is one off the most important things you can do to recover emotionally, physically and mentally. Research shows that consistency in sleep promotes memory, performance, metabolism, brain health, immune health and so much more! Adequate sleep also lowers the risk of inflammation, weight gain and depression.


Why can a bedtime routine help you get better sleep and set you up for more successful days?


A bedtime routine allows your brain and body to wind down, it relaxes you and helps with a more peaceful sleep. Over time, you will train your body to be able to fall asleep at the same time when constant with your routine.


I focus on getting between 7-9 hours of sleep. Sleeping over 9 hours a night has been linked to depression and low immune health. And sleeping less than 7 hours a night has been linked to weight gain and love immune health.

What are some things you can do during a bedtime routine?

  1. Take a hot bath

  2. Turn off all blue light electronics one hour before bed

  3. Dim lighting

  6. Meditate

  7. Stretch

  8. Read a book

  9. Journal

  10. Have a warm cup of chamomile tea
