Classic Sesame Chicken that is better than takeout! And better for you! Only a few ingredients to make the sesame chicken sauce and you’ve got yourself a heplthified take out meal! Gluten free and grain free (depending on sides of choice)
Used what I had in my fridge and pantry and it turned out BOMB.
This meal is totally customizable. You can choose whatever sides you have available or want! The sauce can be modified to to fit what you've got. Check it out below and get cookin'
1 - 1.5 lbs. chicken cut into 1” pieces
1-2 egg whites
1/2 cup coconut flour (may need more depending on how much chicken you have)
Salt and pepper to taste
Sesame Chicken Sauce:
1/4 cup amino acids or coconut aminos or soy sauce
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
(You can sub sweet chili sauce and ketchup for each other. Will change flavor but will turn out.)
4 tbsp coconut sugar (1-2 more if taste is not to liking)
1 tbsp tapioca flour
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp red pepper flakes
Preheat oven to 350.
Once warmed cook veggie of choice with seasoning of choice.
Then, prepare chicken to fry it.
To do this, Cut the chicken, add egg whites to a shallow bowl and add coconut flour, salt and pepper to a separate bowl.
Once chicken is cut, add to bowl of egg whites and mix until chicken is evenly coated in egg whites.
Begin to coat chicken in coconut flour mix.
Once coated, add to a pan on stove at medium heat. (Preheat w 2 tbsp avocado oil)
Flip occasionally, cooking for about 5-6 minutes per side or until browned.
While cooking, make sauce by mixing all ingredients together, adding the tapioca flour last.
Once chicken is mostly cooked, add sauce and turn down heat to low to simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Cook rice or side of choice according to box/package.
While simmering, warm rice and prepare veggies.
